Teen drowns at her home in Andheri

MUMBAI: A 17-year-old girl, who came home after watching Ganpati immersions on Friday night, was found dead in about a foot of water at her house in D N Nagar in Andheri (W). The deceased, Pooja Kesari, had gone to the immersion point at Seven Bungalows with a friend and returned home around 1 am.
She changed her clothes and put a mattress on the floor and went to sleep but, as it was raining heavily at that time, her house started getting flooded, police officials said.A little while later, two of her brothers returned home. They tried to wake her up but she did not respond.
They took her to Cooper Hospital where she was declared dead on arrival. The cause of death was kept pending for accessory examinations, officials said. There was about a foot of water in the house at the time of the incident, they added.
